Default allowing the customer to set the payment amount

Hi all,

apologies if this has been covered but i have searched and searched and found nothing.

i am looking to allow the customer to set the amount of money they want to pay me through the shopping cart.

we have Internet payment facility through our bank so not using paypal etc.

and no, before you aske we are not asking them to pay whatever they want for an item! lol

we have a small letting business and want to allow tenants to pay rent online. i suspect integrating this with the current system would be too big a task so i thought that as the tenant generally know how much their rent is they could simply enter it and then pay that amount.

any thoughts....

i have considered having items that are 1p, 10p, £1 etc so they could add the correct number of items to reach the total, just seems like a crappy solution....

Default We used buttons

Hello,
I was delighted to see your message on here about payments and allow your patrons to choose amounts they need or can pay you.
Yes we had the same problem on one of our shop sites 2 years ago, we lost sleep in trying to think how to do it.
Well in the end we did, we could'nt put all the dif amounts into our shop items, would take too long, so we put Buy now payment buttons on the site, the people were able to enter personal details in the area we designed that we needed to ID them, and they put the amount they wished so it went into our bank accounts.
Hope that could maybe help you?
bye
David

Default Lots of choices

Hi, your not forced to use Paypal, take a look at other buttons you can put on your own website and then paste the bank details into the code of your account, the money will then go to your bank, not paypals.
A mate told me Google do buttons for sites, but not sure as never used those.
