Default Backing up Zen Cart?

I guess I should have sorted this one out as a priority, but like all good computer practices I've left it late.

I'm aware of the need to back up my Zen Cart configuration (if that's the correct phrase to use) and also I need to back up my database, but not sure how to do either if I'm honest.

I did try to back up my Zen Cart by simply downloading my 'web' folder via my FTP programme, but it never completes and I keep getting the message 'FAILED'

So I guess I'm doing it wrong...

Once again any help would be much apopreciated...

Arkie....

Hi Dezina

Thanks for your reply, but you may as well have written it in Mandarin Chinese for all the sense it makes to me...

I tried installing a MOD once and it was a complete disaster. Subsequently I haven't tried since.

I think Lawrence needs to add a 'Help for complete and utter boneheads' category to the forum, so at least those with the skills and knowledge will have an idea what they are dealing with when they answer a post in that category...

So back to my original query....In 50 easy steps can someone tell me how to back up everything I need to back up?

Thanks
Arkie...

Thanks again Dezina for your reply..

I've had a look at the tutorial you directed me too and was wondering if you could tell me what and where is the thing they call 'phpMyAdmin'?

Is it a programme or is it part of Zen Cart?

regards

It should be part of your web hosting setup. As I don't
know what that is, you should consult your hosting support
for help/advice..
