Default Christmas Zen cart question

Is it a good idea to revamp your website to add a Christams theme?
Who plans to do this?
And when would you do it?

I've been looking around for some ideas of what to do but I'm at a bit of a loss of how you go about this. Do you have to install a totally new template?

Dezina - I remember seeing once you had a countdown to Xmas on one of your templates (a tree i think) - can that just be added in? Is it possible to do this with other images (ie an animal - giving my pet site)?

Thanks, Tori

You can have more than one template installed and switch between them at will. I'm sure Dezina will be along soon with a link to her Xmas stuff for you.

Correct..countdown sidebox as per
http://www.dezinashop.com/demo/
3rd right hand sidebox....
Templates...Lawrence is correct.. you can add new template AND/OR
SWITCH between existing template and new xmas template, dependant
on switch factors required.

That's the one - great!
Toying with some ideas to sparkle the site up a bit. Probably be better to have a seperate template to switch to then for the Xmas stuff!

Thanks guys - will be back!

That's smashing, thank you.

My friend who did my logo originally is testing it to see if he can change the colour of the paws to red & gold, (and add a santa hat onto the dog image) so if it works will probably go with an in-keeping theme.
I was also thinking all the paws in the background red & gold. Some doggy decoratives splashed around, and it would have to be a Christmas doggy image in the countdown clock

What do you think?

Ordered my Xmas doggy toys so I'm getting into the spirit of things now!

Sounds great idea to me.. just try and keep image sizes down
if at all possible...otherwise can slow down site performance..
especially header and patterned backgrounds.
Not really thought of Xmas until saw your post.. currently dealing
with grandkiddies birthdays, although my one grandson
told me yesterday his xmas list is already 3 pages long..
