Default Force Customer to Select a Size

I am having problems with customers buying goods but not selecting the size they require.

There is an option to select size but I need to be able to force them to select this.

I think this is something to do with attributes controller but I am unsure how to fix this.....can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks

Do you have the attributes mod added?
I may be wrong but I am sure there is a glitch on this one.
I have had a few occasions where customers have ordered but missed out the size and it has gone through checkout.
However whenever I test it out it doesn't let me checkout

You have to set up Option Value, and then Option Name,
which is set as default and makes customer choose
i.e. as per

Blushfashions, not all the time though but think I may know what it is.well I thought I did but proved my theory wrong half an hour ago
Its not that much of a problem as it is very rare someone places an order without picking a size etc

Product above.. I can add to cart without being
forced to choose size and/or colour.
You need to set up two options, each set as default
i.e. 1 for size and 1 for colour..

Dezina,

Would you please mind spelling this out to me step by step.

I have small, medium and large sizes.

At the moment I have the attributes set as follows:

Option : size

Name : small (size)
medium (size)
large (size)

I am not sure how to change this using default etc. but if I can just get one item correct then I am sure the rest will be easy ? !!

Where customer is required to select choice/attributes, then afraid,
yes, you do. If there is choice of colours and sizes, then extra
default attribute must also be added. i.e
1 default setting for size, plus 1 default setting for colour.
Or you can accept that some orders are
going to come through with incorrect or no choice/s made.

Dezina,
Thanks for your help and the link. However, I am still finding it really difficult to get this working - I am not very techical!

I currently have the following set up

Option Name - Size (size)

Option Value - small (size)
medium (size)
large (size)

If I then set up another option ...say choose (as you suggest), do I select this as a read only, text, size - I am not sure.

Also once I have set up the other option what do I match it against when selecting the option value?

Sorry to keep asking questions but I just can't quite grasp the logic of this.
Thanks
