Default How to set up another website using old one as a starting point

I already have a zencart shop which is all up and running and working well.

I've had another idea for a second shop which my other half will run. I want to use my existing shop.....say copy it , just change around with the name, logo and colour and delete all the existing categories and products.

Hopefully this will give me the base for my new shop but I am not sure how to go about doing all this. Can someone please give me some help on where to start.

Although I did the first shop myself I spent hours of trial and error sorting this out as I am not technical. I have been quoted £100 to do this for me and just wondering if this might be a better idea .....any suggestions?

If you are going to copy but then delete most of new cart from existing, would be simpler and cheaper to just install new zencart.
£100.00 though seems expensive to carry out your idea , which
could be done.

It's quite straight forward to do what you want. What you have to do is copy your store's file system using FTP, then import the old SQL. To configure it, you'll need to edit both config files (includes/configure.php & admin/includes/configure.php) to reflect the change in environment.

This will produce a duplicate of your existing store, all that will be left to do is to delete the old cats and products.

Lawrence is correct...must also remember that any orders
and customers in existing cart will be carried forward into new..
so those may also need to be deleted.
