Default New Domain Name For My Online Store

Hi i currently have a online Zen Cart store under the domain www.shopdontstop.co.uk because when i started out in ecommerce i didnt realise the importance of what a keyword rich domain can do.

I have had a think and come up with www.girlyfashionaccessories.com what do you think?

New domain name is ok, but rather long for my preference.
Can you shorten....shorter domain names means less
typing for visitors.

I agree with Dezina, it does seem a bit long and is vulnerable to typos, especially the word "accessories" which, I'm sure many people can't spell.

Also, have you tried any keyword discovery tools such as WordTracker? These can tell you how many searches are done each month for specific words/phrases, which is invaluable information when deciding what keywords to target.

I'm not familiar with the market you're in, so I wouldn't be a good person to suggest suitable words without doing some research.

The Google keyword tool is quite good, but it isn't as good as www.wordtracker.com which is what most professional SEO people use, and www.keyworddiscovery.com/ which is also very good. Both these sites are commercial, but they offer free trials which should be enough for you to find the best keywords to use. You'll be surprised what words these sites can turn up that you hadn't considered before.

If "accessories" turns out to be a killer keyword, then it might be worth using it if you believe the extra search engine traffic gained from having it in the URL outweighs the disadvantage of it's vulnerability to human error. If not, you can always put it in the <title> tags of each page, which also carry a lot of SEO weight.

I've just had a look at the site, the 7 day free trial now asks for a card number. I assume this is an attempt to prevent people from repeatedly using the free trial.

I would go for a shorter name, that is way too long!
Use the keywords you want to target in your title tag instead. You can also use google adwords to look at the keywords too.Not as good as wordtracker but still useful.
What you need to be doing is looking at it form a customers perspective, what would they type in?
Also look at the keywords some of the sites that ar ecoming up on page one are using for an idea?
But trust me that url is way too long!
Take a look at the top ten in google for hair accessories and you will see what I mean, also notice the absence of hair and accessories in the url?
For that market it needs to be short and catchy

The domain doesn't hav to be keyword rich, you can do that with your title tag.
Take a look at my site and then look at what shows up in the title tag to see what I mean.
If I was you I would pick somethign short and catchy and use the keywords in the title tag

How about dropping "online" and using something like "shop" e.g. "hairfashionshop.com". It'll help catch phrases such as "fashion shop" etc
