OK before the template went on I uploaded a piccy from my computer no problems. the template went on the same day and the piccy's still showed. I took them of as they were tests and today I tried using exactly the same way to upload a photo this being from my computer and it will not apppear.

Any ideas as to what I can do to sort this please.

I have sub cats in now and I clicked on the sub cat, clicked browse then clicked the phot I wanted to upload. I then clicked preview and nothing no piccy whatsoever. It seems awfully strange but when I uploaded for the tests it was in the cat as opposed to the sub cat don't know if this makes any difference.

OK it has been brought to my attentiosn that when larger image is clicked on on my site the image is massive so although I resized the images I did not do them enough.

I am using Gimp as I do not have photoshop is there an easy way to resize images in bulk please.

Also how do I resize using pixels as the resizer please as opposed to the cropping method I have used as I cannot crop any more or I will loose the picture.

Thanks

OK managed to get a photo resized down to 13kb using Paint any smaller and I can't see it.

Will this size be OK and yes over 300 to do and looks like I will be doing them one by one.

Fantastic I have managed to edit them all at the click of a button like you said.

Photo's gone down from 750kb's to 15kb's some difference hey. I know they are still not the ideal size but tried them smaller and as I said I couldn't see them. I have a Bandwidth of 5,000 so I should be OK with this size.

Now just have to change them over on the site and all is well, then on to Meta Tags which ain't hard.

Thankyou for your help again.

OK another photo problem has occured.

I compressed all my photo's but now I am finding that when you click larger picture the photo stays small. So I am thinking that I need to be able to have the three sizes on the site.

Now my questions are how do I get three sizes on my site and also do I use the compressed piccy's to do this please.

To clarify when I compressed the photo's I did not upload them to the site via ftp I used the bit where I choose them via my computer files for each listing.

Thanks for your help again.

I have uploaded via FTP all photo's to both Medium and Large folders tonight.

Checked my site and still they are not changing sizes. Obviously not got something right.

Downloaded the Image Handler but the instructions are not to clear as to where to upload files so I ahve left that for now.

Thanks for your help again.

ohhhhhhh Well I did not add Large and medium on the ends no. They are all named so they relate specifically with the item for sale, in other words I assumed that because they were named identically and the placed in relevant folders it would work but obviously didn't.

I did download Image Handler but the instructions for uploading were not to clear as to where each folder had to go so I didn't do anything in case I messed it up. Also I see something about not using a Live Site which kind of put me off.

If you don't name larger/medium images as per tutorial, then they won't work/show.

Image Handler 2, if installed correctly, works fine on live site.

Thank you could I clarify something please is it possible to copy a whole folder of photo's in Infranview because if I can, I can then copy the folder I have twice and then re-name each photo within so in effect I would end up with three folders in total with Larger, Medium and one normal, as I have an awful lot to re-name and although once done and uploaded is fine would rather have them all seperate as I am adding to photo's all the time.

Thanks

You would not need to do any of this if you installed Image Handler2...
upload one large image.. the mod does all the rest
i.e.
