Default restricted access

Is there a way of creating a catagory on my site, a wholesale section, where they need a password created by me to access it and view the prices?
Its just something I am toying with as I have loads of request to sell some of my things wholesale. It would only be certain things I would add here and need a way of displaying wholesale prices to limited customers?

There may be a mod to do that, I'm sure Dezina will be able to confirm though have you considered doing a separate wholesale site?

There are several ways to achieve this.
1. Create group/s, assign wholesale clients to group..give discount..
each group can have different discount i.e. 5%,10% etc etc
These clients would need to contact you first, signup, so you can
add them.
2. Create hidden category/ies, add products to those category/ies, which
can only be viewed if you give someone the url/s
3. Add mod which exists, but don't advise..difficult to install,
unreliable.
4. Use method I have used several time for clients..create
seperate wholesale zencart( as Lawrence suggested)
Not too difficult BUT you need main store finished and ready first.
