Default SSL Certificate?

Hello

Can someone give me some advice as to whether it is recommended to have SSL?
My host server has advised I do but I have tried to apply and in order to validate my application they require I submit business trading documentation IE trading license, business licence, company cheque, company utility bills but I don't have anything like that as a company and I haven't even started trading yet!

Any advice?
Thanks in advance.

I use above..excellent service and support..
Dedicated IP required, your hosting company
should be able to provide you with IP, either
free or small charge;
or is your hosting company saying you have to
have ssl they supply, maybe shared?
If so, this does not have to be scenario..

That's very OTT for an SSL cert. If you can't make progress with your current hosts, then you should consider changing hosts as an SSL cert is vital for ecommerce.

Rapid SSL are one of the cheaper cert suppliers and are ideal for new sites.
