Default Shop-Script Free - Problem Adding Products

Hello Folks

Since we only have a few categories and products we decided to go with WebAsyst's Free Shop-Script. We installed this with no problems. Customizing to our liking took a bit of fiddling with code but we're happy with it.

We bypassed WebAsyst's Shop entirely: all our products are on our Home page along with Add To Cart buttons and a View Cart button so customers can put products in their cart with only one click from our Home page - simple .

During our first go, all our categories, category descriptions, products and product descriptions went up with no problems.

However, a couple of weeks later when we wanted to add some more products and revise several category descriptions, nothing happened. The additions and revisions all appear in the WebAsyst Shop page, but not on www.ourdomain.co.uk/index.php?show_price=yes, our page listing categories, products and prices.

Have we missed something, or is this merely WebAsyst's way of bringing us to a level of frustration so we buy the Premium package ?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Mary & Bill

Default Silly Me!

Hello David

Sorry about this - the link should have been: www.thesheasoapcompany.co.uk/index.php?show_price=yes.

Thanks for your interest.

Regards
Bill

Default Yes I see now.

Hello Bill,
Yes I think it is a great little website you have, did see the empty areas of your shop, the problem may be that your updates of items loaded up onto the server okay, but looks as if they have gone in the wrong directory from the one you preferred them to go in.
May I suggest that you log into you Ftp program, look at the directory within your web-space area and see where your loaded files are. Once you find your files you should then be able to drag or copy them into the one you would have liked to see them in so they can be seen with the other items.
Good luck, take care,
David

Default The Saga Continues

Hello David

The problem seems to be on WebAsyst's server rather than my site.

The only page I upload to my server is my modified index page where I, in this case, added one product and one Add To Cart button. Everything else, I think, is on WebAsyst's server and is updated when I change things in my Store.

When I go into my Store on WebAsyst and add products and revise category descriptions, these changes don't appear on the .php page that is linked from my site to WebAsyst, although these changes do appear on the Shop page on WebAsyst when I access it through my Store.

On another forum somebody asked me whether I was using Shop-Script Free or WebAsyst. I thought they were one and the same but maybe I'm missing something important here - remember I'm only semi-computer literate!.

Thanks, again, for your prompt reply and all your help.

Regards
Bill

Default Got me Beat this one.

Hello Bill,
Well mate your problem really has me beat as to what could be wrong, but I know that loading pictures up on to a shop with odd things in title like - +> sort of thing will make pics not show up, but to me it still sounds like your web shop is not loading the Index bit in the right area, can you see the index file on your PC and also on the ftp server load area? did you use a Cap letter where a page directory had a little letter? I do know that can make things happen like pages not showing up.
It has got me beat Bill, maybe a kind person on this forum has some new ideas.
Bye take care, and good luck, let me know outcome okay?
David
