Default SnapJar Shopping Cart - Thoughts?

Hey everyone,

I have some band merch that I'm trying to sell online. I already have a website for my band and just need a simple but easy to use shop. I'm primarily planning on using PayPal (and possibly google c.o.) for my payments and I found this site www.snapjar.com.

It took me 15 minutes to setup my shop and I'm just waiting for my business registration approval but in the mean time I wanted to get some thoughts on whether or not the interface is simple to use.

I'm basing my design on another shop I saw that uses snapjar to handle their store: www.yogagoga.com.

Any thoughts or feedback would be greatly appreciated. I'm new to this shopping cart stuff so if there's something technical please explain.

Thanks a ton!!!

Jack

It looks very basic, hosted in the US and its shopping cart is not very intuitive, i.e. not very easy for users. There are plenty of UK based Ecommerce service providers who offer far more for you as the shop owner, and for your customers for the same sort of costs.

Looks basic huh...and not intuitive. For a moment I was taking your comments into consideration but then I checked out your links and realized you are trying to pull traffic to your site.

I guess when you're trying to promote you're own business rather than give real feedback anything looks "basic."

Just to let you know, I'm very happy with the service.

I'm not looking to get into an argument here. Let's be fair.

Regardless, I'm in the US, why would I use a UK service??

Fair point, but it is really looks quite poor compared to the many US alternatives.

The points I made are based on what I see, I am always happy to offer competing services as genuine alternatives such as Actinic, Open Mind Commerce, Pace Retail, A Web Apart.

As long as you are happy with what you have then it doesn't matter what my opinion is

sorry but not impressed with it.looks pretty limited with design and think you will be restricted with seo too.But do you all use their products???ie they are just printing for you on their products? If oyu have the cash would work out much cheaper, and look much nicer. if you had your merchandise made up and your own website, not tied in to anyone else.Just my opinion though.
Its not somethign I would go with.
The example site you showed me looked pretty bland too.
