Default Introducing myself

Hello all. I'm preparing to open an online shop. I've been selling through online auctions for about 5 years and decided the time is right to take this farther. I'll be selling crystals and crystal and gemstone jewellery to begin with and adding more lines as time goes by.

This is my first eshop and I've been doing lots of research. I think I now know the layout I want, I've now got to find a way of achieving it. I'll probably be driving you all crazy with all my questions, all I can ask is that you'll be patient with me. I'll also be asking you to keep it simple because I'm dyslexic.

The cute dog is Shelly, my disability assistance dog.

I also have rescue dogs, even little Shelly was one, she was 5 years old when I had her. She loves working, it's her way of playing because I have never been able to teach her how to play for the fun of it. Working's different because she gets food rewards for it and she's food obssessed.

hi!
Cute dog too! Are you based in the UK then?
If you still sell on auction sites you could always add your link for your auction shop to your sig until you get your site up and running

Hi Tinkerbell, thanks for your suggestion, I'll do that. I'll get working on my signature tomorrow, I've got too much to do today, thanks to the length of time it took me to sort out mysql, and I still don't know if I've got it right.

I was going to ask how you guessed I was in the UK, then I realised - my username.

I've decided not to put a link to my auction shop here. I have to sell my pendants at a much lower price from an auction site. I didn't realise until last Saturday when I was setting up to sell at our local folk festival. A friend was watching me and surprised me by saying he couldn't let me sell at those prices and then quoted a price that shocked me. I put a new price, which was 50p less than he said, and they sold. Nobody said they were overpriced.

It's a shame the weather was so bad on Sunday and Monday because I was selling outside, and there was no way I could sit there in the wind and the rain. I would have made a killing on the Monday because there's craft stalls in the high street and it's usually absolutely crowded. I had been invited to sell in the car park of my friends pub. There was loads of people there because there was a marquee for the performers and inside was totally packed. Ah well, these things happen

That doesn't come as any surprise, sometimes selling too cheap can put potential customers off.
