New eCommerce payment gateway - opinions sought...
We are shortly going to be a launching our own payment gateway in connect with Halifax Bank of Scotland aimed at primarily the SME/startup market but also catering for more established merchants.
In a nutshell there will be two offerings, a gateway for those who already have a merchant account and a second that bundles the gateway and MA together. The prices, which aren't set in stone yet, would be around: Gateway costs £17.50 + vat per month for up to 350 transactions per month 7.5p + vat per transaction over the monthly limit, so if you do 400 transactions in a month, the cost would be £17.50 + 7.5px50 Gateway + Merchant Account Fees as per above with the following rates on cards: Visa/Mastercard - 3D secured - 2.5% Maestro Domestic Debit, Switch/Solo, Electron - 25p Maestro International - 3% The system will come with a full API for merchants and connects to all the UK/EU banks plus have a very high level of failover redundancy built in and a very sleek control panel with virtual terminal etc. Thoughts on costs?

I'm not currently using a payment gateway, but if I was I'd be happy with those costs.

sounds ok to me too.I use worldpay at the moment, although I am still on their special offer.
Would you be extending this to bricks and mortar shops? ie chip and pin? I still haven't got my head round how this will work when I move into the shop.Missed the callback form streamlime need to ring them back again. What I need is someone who cna do the whole lot for me, mechant bank, online payments, and chip and pin. Most importnat thing for me though is how long they hold on to my money for.Worldpay hold onto it for 4 weeks

I'll double check but I'm 99% sure you would also be able to apply for an in store terminal as well...
