Default Comments Welcome!

Ok Folks...

I've begun work on my site and now feel I'm at the stage where I need some constructive criticism.

I've tried to keep it as clean and simple and uncluttered as possible so please view it with that idea in mind.

I've yet to add my stock, just a few test items to see how it's all working, but I would appreciate you having a look and letting me know your thoughts.

please be assured I'm not easily offended, so feel free to say it how it is....

Look forward to comments

Arkie....

I like the design etc. I noticed you have used images with text on the main page.they look nice but search engines can't read them thats the only snag.Ideally you need some search engine friendly text there to help with your organic listings.
You need to insert the text but not as an image if you know what I mean.

Thanks for your comments Tinkerbell...

The text on the main page issue is an interesting one. A few days ago I had text on the main page briefly outlining what my company sold etc. but removed it on the advice of someone on the Zencart forums who felt it was unnecessary and made the home page look cluttered. He went on to say that having no text on the home page didn't make much difference to SEO which I found a little strange as all I keep reading about regarding SEO is among other things, that content is all important. The more content you have on your site the better apparently.

I would be interested in other peoples views on this issue.

I have no right to comment really on this Arkie, as my SEO was way below par on my old site, but having been given SEO Optimisation for Dummies (definitely a great title), that was exactly the impression I have got - content, content, content!

Good luck, the site's looking good

Susie x

If you do some googling on seo you will find content is what counts at the end of the day.
You need good meta tag title and description and then some good keywords in your text.Keyword metatag isn't that important for google but some search engines do still use them though.
Google likes to see fresh content too so they look for a site where the content is changing on a regular basis but adding new products to the site will do that anyway.I would be interested to hear other comments too though? You can still create a similar look but with actual text and not images. That way you achieve the look you are after and the bonus if being search engine friendly.
