Default Google's guidelines for webmasters.

Before starting an SEO campaign, every site owner should read these guidelines for webmasters.

http://www.google.com/support/webmas...y?answer=35769

There's some good advice on there and you'd be a fool not to take note of some of their warnings. While you're there, check out some of the other pages as there's some very useful info and tools available

The easiest way to verify your site is to upload the file they give you. This will mean you don't have to edit any existing files.

You can use your FTP client or Dreamweaver if you have it to upload the file to your Zencart root folder, i.e. /web/ where all your other files are located.

If you haven't got an FTP client then let me know nd I'll sort one out for you.

I've had a look at the files on the server and you've uploaded a Word (.doc) file and not an HTML file and also uploaded it to the wrong place, it needs to go in your web root.

You need to copy the code that Google gave you into notepad not Word, then save and rename it to a .html file. You then upload it to your web root where your homepage is located.

I've renamed the file and moved it to your web root for you so it should work now.
