Default some advice please

I will be workingon my new site shortly but for now I just simply have a landing page. I was able to submit keywords, description etc but what I am wondering is it worth submittingto google etc just yet or should i wait until I actually start on the site andits ready to use?

Personally, I would wait..visitors may be disappointed if
when they arrive, just a holding page greets them.

You never need to submit any sites to Google. Just posting a link on a site that gets indexed regulary will be enough to let Google find it and it's also ususally a lot quicker than submitting a URL.

You're ok as long as this thread is the only place that you've posted the URL because all new links are nofollowed by default so Google shouldn't follow it through to your site. When you're ready, I'll add the domain to the "whitelist" so it'll be followed every time the URL is posted.

Once you're site is ready, use social bookmarking. Just be bookmarking your site on technorati, for example, will have it indexed in a few hours. The best advice I ever got was to social bookmark every single page of my sites, any articles I write and submit, eg on ezinearticles.
If you go to socialmarker.com, they have a really cool piece of kit that makes social bookmarking simple
