hi there everyone loving the forum think everyone is great and if your new stick around you will learn alot.

I am looking at building a html website but i want to use fireworks and build my own template i am rather stuck setting background colours trying to grip hold of the basics.

I have 2 questions

1. When i try to a background for part of my layout it only fills a small part not all of the choosen slot?
Doing it using css stylesheets
What am i doing wrong?

2. Is there any guides which aint just useless rambles i already know the basic basics of dreamweaver and html links etc but am looking to dive a bit deeper.
