Unhappy HTML Advice

Hi there folks.

Hope everybody has had a nice Christmas and looking forward to the New Year?

I set up my site (or rather someone did it for me) a few months ago and I know nothing at all about HTML. It is very clear to me that I need to learn it fast or at least some basic knowledge.

Can anybody recommend the best/easiest way of doing that? I came across a site on Google the other night which promises to teach you how to set up your own website fairly quickly. Are these sites the best or am I better with a book or what??

Help?

Lisa

I taught myself, if you google lots of 'free' sites that can give you the basics. There are some good books out there too I am sure someone will be able to recommend one for you.Its not that hard once you get your head round it

This site has a very good HTML tutorial. The best way to learn is to experiment with an empty page. WYSIWYG editors are useful but tend to create sloppy mark up, though they can be used to create an effect so you can examine the HTML afterwards to see how it was done. For books on the subject, you could try HTML for Dummies or Teach Yourself HTML and CSS in 24Hrs. Both these books will give you a grounding in HTML.
