Default lets start with the basics

Lots of people these days think starting theor own ecommerce store is a quick way to make some money....WRONG!
You need to put just as much thought and hard work into making a success of your ecommerce store as you do with any shop,it takes patience and persistence

Tip no 1.Don’t invest a lot to start with—learn with inexpensive items. Its trial and error at first and what you may think be your best seller may not sell at all! Start with a minimum investment; and as you begin to make a profit, put that money back into your business rather than buying yourself luxuries no matter how tempting it may be!!.

Tip 2 - Start with lots of categoreis and a broad range if you can. This is part of your market research and soon you will ne able to narrow it down to a smaller selection of products that do really well and concentrate on these

Please feel free to add you rwon tips

A very good post, we've just published an article that covers some of the things you need to consider when looking to set up your own eCommerce shop.

Being careful with your money has to be right at the top of your priority list, so many traders throw big chunks of their budgets at flashy shop designs, mountains of stock and unaffordable one-off advertising rather than taking it step by step and learning what works in their market through low-cost trial and error.

Not only is it a good article on eCommerce, the page itself is a very good example of the use of contextual internal anchor text linking, a skill that if mastered will serve you well.

Contextual means the link is relevant to the text it's embedded in. This is an example of anchor text used in context. Whether it's internal linking or external links pointing in, it's good for your site to use good anchor text. If you use a URL as a link, such as www.eshopforums.com then you've wasted an opportunity to give your site a boost for a key phrase.

Thanks for the positive feedback on the article

On SEO terms the title and contents are also a consequence of taking a close look at our google analytics to see where we can improve the website's reach (now called longtail) - analysis of the almost random infrequent search terms used to find our web site, and optimising the article for any common words or terms used in these one-off search phrases.
