Default Bogus virus threats

I've seen this exact same message on two different boards in the last couple of days so It's obviously quite widespread,

Please beware !!!
You should be alert durng the next days:

Do not open any message with an attached file called 'Invitation' regardless of who sent it, It is a virus that opens an Olympic Torch

which 'burns' the whole hard disc C of your computer.

This virus will be received from someone who has your e-mail address in his/her contact list, that is why you shold send this e-mail to

all your contacts. It is better to receive this message 25 times than to receive the virus and open it.

If you receive a mail called 'invitation' , though sent by a friend, do not open it and shut down your computer immediately. This is the

worst virus announced by CNN, it has been classified by Microsoft as the most destructive virus ever.

This virus was discovered by McAfee yesterday, and there is no repair yet for this kind of virus. This virus simply destroys the Zero

Sector of the Hard Disc, where the vital information is kept

SEND THIS E-MAIL TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW ,

COPY THIS E-MAIL AND SEND! IT TO YOUR FRIENDS

AND REMEMBER: IF YOU SEND IT TO THEM, YOU WILL BENEFITALL OF US

If you receive an email or read a post similar to this then just ignore it and tell others to do the same. The message itself is the virus, it works by getting people to spread it around the net eating up valuable bandwidth. By passing on the message you are part of the "virus". If you want to know about the latest virus threats then check the major virus sites such as Trend, Kaspersky, Norton and McAfee.

If this particular "virus" was mentioned on CNN as they claim, then where is the link to the story on their website? Please don't help these attention seekers get a kick out of their childish pranks. Ignore and delete!

If anyone is at all concerned about these warnings they can go here to have them checked out

http://www.snopes.com/

They will tell you which email warnings are hoaxes and tell you how far back they go as some of these hoaxes have been doing the rounds for years
