Default Dreamweaver 8 losing account FTP details.

This is a problem I and several others I know suffered from a while ago that was annoying to say the least.

The problem was that every time I tried to connect to a site using Dreamweaver 8 it asked me for the FTP U/N and P/W despite it already being saved, this happened on every site, even those that had previously worked fine for months beforehand.

The cause? The installation of IE7! (Not obvious, but hardly a surprise!)

If you are suffering with this problem then go to the Dreamweaver site and download the latest updates.

Hope this helps someone.

You can say that again Ken. I wouldn't bother with IE if it wasn't for the fact that I need to check that web pages display correctly on it, I also need it to use my Internet Banking due to the ActiveX content.

I wouldn't use Windows at all if it wasn't for the fact that a lot of the S/W I use isn't available on other platforms.

Whilst not a great fan of Microsoft, it doesn't cause me too many problems, and i've not had any trouble with IE7 since it installed itself without asking! Mind you from what I've heard Vista is one to stay away from.

I haven't tried Vista yet and I'm in no rush too.

Apart from some comments about the cosmetic changes, I've yet to hear anyone say something good about it.

I can't find anything good about vista, the tab thing drives me mad and I can't find things that are easy to find in XP.

I haven't used it myself and I'm in no rush too. I haven't come accross a single person neither newbie nor veteran geek who likes it.

SP1 is due out early next year, perhaps that will fix some of the issues that people are experienceing with it, though knowing MS it will introduce some new ones that didn't exist before.
