I am looking to buy a new laptop for my daughter, so I need a budget range one.
I need good memory. She will be using it for homework, listening to music and downloading it no doubt, uploading all her photos and videos from her phone, watching dvds, and chatting on msn and myspace. So any suggestions anyone? I am willing to pay up to £500, she is only 14 after all ![]()

You can't go far wrong with with any of the big name brands for that sort of money, though you should still check out some of the review sites before making a commitment.
You might have to make do with the current version of Vista until SP1 is released, which I believe is scheduled for early next year unless you can find one that comes with XP.

Search for good deals on slightly older laptops that have windows XP,
not windows Vista...ebuyer.com may still have some..can recommend them. Have also bought several 'puters from Comet..Acer is excellent brand.. |
