Google have announced a project to create an authoritative store of information on any subject similar to Wikipedia. One difference between the two will be that "Googlepedia" will be able to have several articles dubbed 'knols' on one particular subject by different authors rather than having different authors editing/deleting each others work. Each article will be ranked by popularity allowing the users to choose which is the authoritative source rather than the editors as is the case with Wikipedia.
