Default quick way to protect images

How much work is involved in adding a watermark, ie my logo along the bottom, to all my product images?
I am now really peed off with people nicking them.I have just reported a powerseller on ebay for using my image in his details but hosted direct from my site
If listing hadn't already ended he would have a very naughty pic there instead!

If you mean images on your zencart site, you
can use Image Handler 2...this mod automatically
resizes images and watermarks them..

To add a watermark, simply open the image in your graphics editor, add text to bottom of image, save and upload.

If you have one of the more upmarket graphics editors e.g PhotoShop, FireWorks etc you can do all your images in a batch. Put all your images in a folder on your PC, set up the batch job to add the watermark and run. You'll be able to do all your images in a matter of minutes.

For more specific instructions on how to batch process simply Google something similar to "photoshop batch processing".

My hubby has photoshop on his pc, shall have a go this weekend, need to practice with adding the logo/text, don't want it too in your face to detract from actual image but want it quite clear it is form my site though!

i am also thinking of doing the same thing but then will some people simply copy your image, cut the image and exclude the watermark part, then paste the face on their own site and treat it as their own?

get what i mean - your intention is not to distort the main subject in an image and their aim is exactly the same thing, on the very same image!!!!

Default watermarking

prob. best to have a visible textual addition in grey or a discrete colour in the lower region of the image - just covering the image so it cant be cropped easily.
