What do you reckon to this?
http://www.auctionbytes.com/cab/abn/y08/m01/i29/s06 Anyone who's sold on eBay will know how ridiculous this is. The feedback system is there so you see the feedback of your trading partners. The nightmare buyers will now be able to rampage through the site without anyone knowing their trading history. Previously you were able to cancel the bids of repeat non payers or those who had frequently claimed they hadn't received a delivery. Now it's going to be an open field for every scammer going. There will be no way of warning other sellers of problem buyers, it's going to be a minefield for the sellers on there. It makes me glad I'm no longer an eBay trader! The result of this will be that many regular eBay sellers will no doubt consider opening their own eCommerce sites. I haven't checked eBay's own boards yet, but I bet this news hasn't gone down well at all over there.

Won't be buying again on EBay then..Suspect they
could lose fair amount of trade as time goes by, with genuine traders switching to online stores. |

I haven't sold regularly on eBay for over a year, though I've recently listed a load of old stock for 99p start no reserve just to get rid of it, but after this news I won't be selling on there again. If the buyer can leave the seller a "neg", then the seller should be able to leave the buyer one. It was bad enough me having a four figure 100% F/B record trying to cope with those buyers who threaten you with ruining your 100% reputation while trying to scam you when you could leave them a neg F/B to warn others of their behaviour, but when you can't even do that, there's going to be nothing to stop them becoming a nuisance then leaving you a negative F/B for your trouble. The new F/B system won't make the F/B more honest as eBay claims, it'll make the undesirable buyers more bold.
