What S/W are they running on their site?

Some S/W can do it natively such as vBulletin the same S/W this forum runs on, so I only need to configure it to the feed's parameters whereas others don't have RSS features and will need a 3rd party script to do the job. You can see examples of feeds to this forum in the Computers & IT News section.

You can see an example of a newsfeed reader I set up on a plain HTML page on www.eshopforums.co.uk this takes feeds from both this site and Zen's so the content is highly relevant to this forum with lots of deep links. I ran a duplicate content test on it to make sue that Google wouldn't penalise me for it and the result was 8% which is well within the estimated 85% threshold that Google uses to weed out duplicated content.

I was thinking of adding one to my new site. which i have decided to go ahead with. But holdong back now you have mentioned magento. I guess it all depends if it would be compatible with this?
can you add them to a zencart package then? I know a google newsfeed can help boost your rankings.

I assume you mean feeding your stuff to Google rather than receiving a Google feed? If so, that's a little more involved and you'd best bet would be to look for a mod on the Zen site.

If it's just displaying someone else's feed on your site then that's quite easy but will only help your rankings as far as having more content for the spiders to find.
