Personal selling always has one main intention: sales (or repeated sales). Usually, it is "face-to-face" communication between the salesperson and prospective consumer. The initial notion that the Internet is a medium which will not require any human interaction and consumers will just buy from machines has been proved wrong - by the ever increasing demand for customer service from the online consumer.

But whoever thought that personal selling with each prospective consumer is a phenomenon of a Utopian World?
