Default recession

how is the recession affecting you so far and how do you think it will affect your business in the long term?

I think I've started my business at the worst time possible. I get so many comments that my products are great but that to save pennies - spoiling pets is the last thing people will do!

What about introducing a really cheap budget range, maybe even a loss seller, to drive traffic and sales to the site.Provide a good service and they will remember you and pop back when feeling a bit flush.I don't think this recession will last as long as they are making out, or even be as worse as they are making out.Pets AND children still get spoilt in a recession I think.

I've been giving a matching toy when I sell a bed, or offering free postage, I've got specials on which are almost at cost price - so some good offers.
Just started with Google Awords - I got a £75 voucher and that seems to bringing some traffic.
How are your sales doing?

Blushfashions is doing really well, but I am having a huge sale to clear some stock so I can make way for new ranges.Although non sale stock is selling just as well.
Dancewear site is doing ok too, especially considering it only went live in April.I wasn't expecting sale for at least another 6 months.Still getting a fair few telephone orders too.
Middle of month is always quieter though
