The facts and figures are in the news today on all day drinking.
"The 24-hour licensing laws have cost taxpayers £100 million and have failed to reduce the number of alcohol-fuelled disorders" you can read more of this

All I can say is this, where I live there has been quite a rise in alcoholics.I am not saying his is because of all day drinking but it certainly doesn't help. There is a pub opposite my shop and I see the same old faces standing outside every day, having their cigarettes. What kind of existence is that? Spending every day at the pub torturing your liver and probably having nothing left over to buy food or pay the bills as they obviuosly aren't working.Days I have had to stay late at the shop preparing deliveries they ar still there so they don't work shifts either!
There is one pub which is opposite the local jobcentre and it opens at 9am every day.
A friend of mine counsels alcoholics and she said a lot of them actually blamed the pubs as they said it had mad it really hard for them to give up.
Not all alcoholics sit on street corners with a bottle inside a carrier bag.
Alcoholism is an illness and as such we should be doing our utmost to discourage and prevent it.All day opening hours doesn't exactly do this does it?
If we were a nation where alcohol wasn't so readily abused maybe it would be fine but we all know that isn't the case.
A lot of Kids now look forward to when they can get served their first drink and not get their first job

There is something not quite right there and we need to address the problem.
